Nero Cosmos

Nero Cosmos is a Swiss artist living in Zurich. With a degree in design technology from Zurich University of the Arts, Nero Cosmos uses artificial intelligence to explore the relationship between humans and machines, and the latter's consciousness. By combining data collection with machine-learning techniques and algorithms, he uses generative adversarial networks to create images and videos that metamorphose ad infinitum: ‘By training the Generative Adversarial Networks model, the artist temporarily loses control, with the algorithm taking control of the creative process. The machine and the artist are intentionally forced to collaborate and exist in a constant symbiosis.’ The unpredictability of this artificial intelligence generates results influenced by the technology, shattering the viewer's perception into a multitude of possibilities. The more images involved, the more spontaneous the results. By visualising these results, Nero Cosmos creates a work that lies between a real world and an abstract world, seeming to create threads of logical patterns in the midst of randomness and chance. Member of the playform.io studio (artificial intelligence platform), editor of the digital magazine artificielle), editor-in-chief of the digital magazine bubmag.com and creative director of the design studio superdea.com. His work is regularly exhibited in Switzerland and Europe, as well as internationally.
