KaptN
KaptN is a digital artist and neuroscientist living in New York. His practice combines the traditional techniques of modernist art with current digital technologies. Defining himself as both a ‘traditional old school artist’ and a digital artist, he uses ink, acrylic, oil paint and artificial intelligence technologies in his work. He has developed a keen interest in AI ART. Artificial intelligence enables him to create purely generative works in a neo-modern surrealist style. In addition to generative NFT, he submits his own drawings and collages to machine learning algorithms to create his pieces. As a surrealist artist, KaptN asks himself: ‘When reality is artificial, constructed and totally surreal, what can a surrealist artist create? Ultimately, his answer is to visually push his surrealist works as close to reality as possible in order to disrupt the docile acceptance of our absurd everyday existence. My creations deal mainly with concepts linked to human conditions such as isolation, alienation and detachment. Through anthropomorphic architectural portraits, my creations deal mainly with concepts linked to human conditions such as isolation, alienation and detachment.’ Kaptn has numerous collections in the NFT space, and his work has been exhibited in digital and physical galleries in New York and Milan.
