Eric Lapierre

Born in 1972 near Lyon, Eric Lapierre is one of the rising figures of digital contemporary art. He began his career in a photographic laboratory. New media and new technologies have no secrets for him. He mastered photo editing, digital painting and graphic design. He makes prints on metallic papers and mounts them on an aluminum structure, on these supports will emerge well-known figures, icons of rock from Bowie to Jimi Hendrix through the Beatles. Eric Lapierre will also draw from the codes of popular culture, the characters who appear on his works are updated by the colors that circulate under their digital skins. Soft explosions of color, which are fluid and let the movement shine through. Portraits on a black background come to life thanks to the shades of colour and the play of shapes.
